Mad Droids First AMA Recap

In this first AMA two of the Mad Droids Core Team Members joined us for a short talk answering questions from the community.
On this occasion, we were joined by Juan Nates, Producer and Creative Director. He has been director and co-founder of a game studio called “Colombia Games” since 2005. His company has worked in the past with brands such as Adidas, Samsung, Coca-Cola among others. They have also released titles in the mobile gaming space.
We were also accompanied by Alejandro Narvaez, Business Development Director. At the moment of this AMA, he was in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil representing “Mad Droids” at Ethereum Rio! He oversees promoting “Mad Droids”’ in different cryptocurrency/NFT events around the world to increase our offline exposure, and find potential partners and investors.
AMA questions answered by our team:
1. It seems like the App will be very useful to other communities. Is part of the strategy to position the App as a meta social network for NFT communities?:
Alejandro: Yes. First, we start with this app which with the usage of AR will allow other communities to display their NFTs viewable and verified in real time through the user’s phone camera, as explained in the whitepaper. This will certainly give us exposure to other communities because it’s innovative. In fact, we are not aware of other similar products in the market. In the great scheme of things, in terms of the metaverse, we can go way beyond the app, to eventually become a meeting place with other communities where the world of “Mad Droids” will bring you different experiences.
2. Would gameplay be slightly different for someone who owns a mutant dev compared to an alien dev for example?:
Juan: This is part of the game design we are working on right now. But definitely depending on the species of your NFT Developer, will be your abilities on catching the Droids. This is something we will have to tune and make some AB testing
3. Since the voxel art style fits so good with Sandbox, will you create a scene/experience in Sandbox? This could be a simple mini game or even a full play-to-earn game.
Juan: Yes, actually today we will have a sneak peek on this that we are working on. You got lucky!
4. For me the gamification part is super important — I love the platform you go for as the gaming is super smooth. Do you feel that there can be big game titles and long storylines translated to the sandbox universe? So like an MMO-Style-Game?
Juan: I think that creating MMO-like experiences is part of The Sandbox vision for how the product is evolving. We will see if big game titles come, it would be interesting to see this happening.
5. Should we expect an extension of the utility or is it going to be mainly a game? If so, to what extent would this utility be?
Alejandro: Yes, you may expect an extension of utility! The app and the game are just components of the “Mad Droids Universe”. We aim to also leverage our IP in means of an animated series, comic books, toys… among others.
6. I love the project, but it doesn’t seem to have much impact and the discord is still quite small. What are your plans to increase community participation/visibility and create a strong community?
Alejandro: Yes, good question. Initially our goal was to grow mainly organically. In the next few days, you will start to see additional traction as we are increasing our marketing expenses. In fact, we just hired a new Director of Marketing and Online Business Development with lots of experience and good connections within the NFT/influencers sphere. You may expect an announcement about this very soon. Stay tuned.
7. What is the ultimate goal of the project? What would you like to achieve at the end of it all?
Juan: Thank you, very deep question, the end of everything… after having a Next Gen Web3 (AR + Geolocation) successful game, we will move with the Metaverse industry to achieve our vision, to be the #1 Droids factory that develops productivity and entertainment solutions that improve the experience and quality of life of users in the Metaverse
8. For me, I’m interested in the organization and projects future plans, should we be expecting any future collaborations like we’ve seen with other NFT projects or is this a solo Project?
Alejandro: You may expect other collaborations such as the one with Cryptoskulls, which was “unofficially” announced yesterday.
